He was pathetic, wasn't he? All that he tried didn't turn out well, any attempt that he made turned to ash, told him that whatever he thought he was worth, he wasn't and not matter what it was that he attemped, it only led to pain. Yujin wondered, not about many things, he forgot too many of them to begin with, but he wondered about what it was that held him together, that gave him an idea of who to be. Who was Yujin of Silesse and why did he think it was this oddly cheerful guy, someone that dragged himself and his friends to places he didn't even know, someone that wanted to see the world, that wanted to feel the freedom he'd lost because he got lost during one snowy, frigid night? None of this made sense, his father was supposed to help him feel better, not lock him up. "I ... I am ... You ... you are right." Richard was right, neither of them would benefit from him spiraling down, finding himself someplace dark and wondering how he got there, when it was painfully obvious who or what the culprit was. His brain was a mess, wired in all the wrong ways, forced to remember tidbits of what once was, letting fear seep through endless cracks and Yujin was his own victim, the one that couldn't forget, that couldn't cope, despite it being literal years. And what did he do? Saddle Richard with the task of temporarily fixing him, like the entitled brat he'd always been.
Skin against skin, softly running along, giving him the impression of being save, despite knowing that he wasn't - what did he fear? The dark, the cold, the emptiness - everything that his home embodied, but once he left the settlement behind, he suddenly couldn't deal with his own desires anymore, instead, he struggled, so, so, so much. Yujin listened, partially calmed by what Richard offered and partially by himself, by listening to his breathing for a while, but he understood, there were words that Richard was saying and all of them came back to one of those necklaces, something he'd thought about earlier. Wasn't that king a lucky guy? First, he got himself someone to stall the boredom with, someone that got to see the outside world and then, he accidentally gifted him something, something that seemed to pick the old wolf back up, on his feet. Wasn't that lovely? "That sounds bittersweet", Yujin answered and it did. Nobody was excepting someone like the wolf to stick to a sheep for all those years, but in the end, he did and they loved and cherished one another as it seemed. Was this what being lovesick truly was, or was it rather being lovestruck and in awe about all those emotions. "But it sounds romantic, too. It's a nice story." Somehow, it was a hopeful one, too - Yujin liked that, leaned in just a bit and squeezed Richards hand some more. Not that he could gift the half-sheep a necklace, that was out of question, but it made him wonder about a few things. "Thank you", he mumbled, he felt better already, still a bit shaken but it did occupy his mind with something else for a while. Where was that necklace now, though? Wasn't all of this quite sad?

Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
