    • Caelan was so occupied with packing up, that he didn't notice Ronan wake up, after all the tree with its low hanging branches still served as a kind of curtain. Caelan tried to be quiet in packing up and seeing to it that the fireplace was safe and the grass around it wouldn't start burning. He let the horses drink, then prepared them for the ride, shifting his own belongings to Ronans horse, since his own had to carry two people. Maybe they'd shift horses at some point, letting one rest a little, after all they had to be able to ride trough as well and the extra weight didn't help. They would also need to make some breaks along the way anyway. Caelan was busy stuffing somethings into a bag when he suddenly felt arms wrapping around his body. "Ah, good morning! I didn't want to wake you.", Caelan smiled, was he being too noisy? He wasn't sure if Ronan was awake already or still half asleep, his body almost clung to Caelans own and his mumbled words were barely understandable.

Caelan waited a while, before trying to turn around in Ronans arms. When he had made it he wrapped his own arms around the fellow noble, holding and supporting him a little bit, while telling him what he had done so far. "I prepared my horse to carry us both and shiften my luggage to yours, I packed everything up besides the blankets and we are aside from that ready to go. Do you want to eat breakfast? There is something left from yesterday, though you can eat while riding as well, if you want. Or while I'll pack up the rest. Don't worry, I'll take care of it." Caelan probably talked to much this early in the morning and he didn't really expect an answer, so he just pushed Ronan away from him a little bit, gave him a kiss and then shoved him to one of the bags. "There is the food.", he explained, then he started to pack up the rest and move the blankets rom the makeshift bed to Ronans horse to store them somewhere too.
    • He didn't feel horrible tired, so that was a start - and it also made being awake a bit easier, or at least trying to keep his eyes open. Did he startle Caelan? Actually, Ronan had no idea - the thin line between being concious or, well, being asleep was still present and in reality it weighed down on him the less he moved, so actually it wasn't a bad idea for Caelan to seemingly get a move on and packing up - Ronan would, most likely, be no help with that, anyway. "Don't worry, I woke up on my own", he mumbled, lying just to make Caelan feel better, even though they both probably knew that the blonde was the culprit all along and that it didn't matter how much they tried just that to one another. "It's good that I'm awake, anyway", he mused, still not letting go of the blonde as if they were two magnets stuck to one another just because - and he had no problem with that, in fact, he wouldn't even mind being lifted up and carried around right now, but he couldn't say that, his lover was busy with packing up and Ronan was the one closing his eyes again while he clung to him.

Warmth wouldn't overcome him so soon, there was still plenty of stuff to do and most of it was packing up now and then cleaning out the cabin once they'd arrived there. The truth was, that he couldn't wait to be there but on a different note was kind of afraid to have Caelan see all of these stained sheets, or even some of the books - maybe it was a bad idea going there? No, he couldn't pull his invitation back now and he rumbling in his stomach was at least enough to distract him. "That's nice to hear. You ... could have woken me up so I ... could help ... you, you know?", he mumbled, needed a few moments to collect his often incoherent thoughts and then tried to pry his eyes back open. Caelan helped him around and he let him; there was no reason to fight it anyway - it wasn't like he could do that, either. Another kiss and no time to kiss the blonde back - Ronan sighed, stretched himself for a second and then opened up the bag and rummaged through it, took something out and just ate it while watching Caelan pack up. "Are you sure I can't help?"

    • Ronan was incredibly adorable when he was sleepy but this time Caelan kept this thought to himself, since Ronan already said he didn't want to be called cute, or sweet or something like that and this probably fell into the same category. How his hair just did whatever, while he barely could keep his eyes open like a child was still just that, cute and the best part about it was how clingy he was, how he held onto Caelan and probably could have fallen asleep while standing there again. "Now you only have to stay awake too...", Caelan giggled softly, he would take care of the rest, while Ronan could take his time. At least he let himself be moved like a puppet from one place to the next and was kind of complicit with probably almost everything while he was in this delirious state, not that Caelan planned on abusing this.

"It doesn't bother me to pack up on my own and you looked like you could use some more minutes.", he smiled, noticing the slow speech and by all this mumbling it was hard to understand Ronan at all. Caelan made sure Ronan did what he told him to, namely eat something and then he collected the blankets from the floor. He also found his shirt and put it on while he was at it, as well as his boots. "Of course you can help me, but you don't have to, really. I'm almost done anyway. Just eat a little and maybe wash your face with some cold water, that'll help waking you up, unless you want to sleep on the horse, that's fine too. By the way, make up your mind if you want to sit at the front or back. If you want to relax you can rest your head on my back, but you have to promise to hold on tight, I don't want you to fall off." Caelan started folding all the blankets and then tried to find room in their saddlebag, once all this was done, he was almost finished. The last thing he did was finding a rope and with that he bound the two horses together, so Ronans horse would follow in any case, though he didn't think it was much of a problem once it understood what they wanted from it.
    • The world seemed like it was awake, it always was, and Ronan was the kind of person that was busy falling behind, trying his hardest to catch up - busy running away, busy trying to hide - his body, his mind, all of it was caught in a different world for way too long and his very being was brittle, trying his best to wake up, to realize that no, he wasn't asleep any longer that, no, he was in fact awake, as awake as he could be right now and it didn't necessarily matter whether or not he'd wake up completely soon or in a few hours. "I'm trying ... I'm trying ...", he mumbled, aware of the fact that staying awake wasn't always easy and that Caelan wasn't like him - that he could jump out of bed and just do whatever he wanted, as annoying as it was to Ronan - he had to deal with it. Clinging to Caelan sounded like a good idea, but now he just stood there and watched - watched as long as he could without his eyes shutting and while he was at it, he shoved some more pieces in his mouth.

"I appreciate the effort, but you can just wake me up when you get up, don't worry", he mumbled. Maybe that'll help him become more like Caelan? Though, Ronan doubted it - in what world had that ever worked? In reality, he was nothing more than a sad excuse for a sick man and then again, he claimed he wasn't sick - but what was the truth? Nothing? Or something? A slight sigh spilled from his lips and he finally stretched himself once more, didn't dare touch his face just yet and instead picked up his shirt, put it back on and then searched for that cape of his that he had put somewhere as well. But where? A bit of looking around and actually opening his eyes later, he found it and promptly draped it over his shoulders to keep himself warm and very much awake. "Can you hold me instead? I think that might be easier and I think I'll stay warm that way. Plus, my excuse doesn't really work the other way around", he proposed and then, before even taking anything else into consideration - like Caelan wanting to answer him - made his way for the lakes shore, kneeled down and washed his face, his hands - tried waking up - and when he had, he walked back to Caelan. "So, do you still need help?"
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • Caelan wasn't the most orderly person and so he had a habit of just stuffing everything into a bag, as long as he could still close it it was fine, but he knew that this wouldn't work here and he had to be careful if they didn't want to leave anything behind. So he folded everything and had a plan as to were to put it, he actually managed to pack everything up again without something staying behind and without a place in the bag. Ronan still was mumbling and crunching on some food, Caelan also brought some apples he didn't give Ronan yesterday, but they could eat them on the way if they felt hungry. They also should have enough water and with that they were pretty much settled. Caelan took one last look around and checked if they hadn't forgotten anything and he pealed out the molten candles and put the rest on the rest of the fireplace, as well as any crumbs they left behind yesterday.

"Alright, next time I'll wake you then, but I really don't mind letting you sleep a while longer.", Caelan smiled, he was used to camp alone or with Cameron and Cameron was lazy, so Caelan ended up doing all the work most of the time. It didn't bother him and he did it so often, he didn't even pay attention to it anymore, Ronan would probably only disturb him, if he started packing up too and ruining his routine and plan. In the end he wouldn't remember if he'd done everything because Ronan had helped too. "Sure, no problem!", Caelan smiled, this way he could barely support Ronans head, but if he didn't fall asleep, that wasn't much of a problem anyway. "What is your excuse?", he asked curious, since Ronan hadn't told him until now. "I... no. We're all ready and set to go, so get on the horse!", Caelan grinned and wondered already how this would feel and work.
    • On the other hand, if he had been awake just a little bit more, he'd probably have taken care of packing up by himself. It wasn't hard to just fold everything and then orderly pack it up, but as it seemed, other people had different methods - why should he blame Caelan for that? The truth was that, in reality, tey were all different and in fact, not all birds of the same feather tended to flock together. Ronan, on one hand, was usually just happy when he got something to work the intended way, but sometimes it was also somewhat fun to fool around and try out new things - but not now, they already had packed and he wasn't really in a condition to do something that went against all of those principles. Maybe he felt like it, yes, but in reality he also felt like being held and sleeping just a little bit more in those strong arms that Caelan had and maybe, just maybe, hating himself a bit more for a second for not being like him, not like his lover, but instead thin and scrawny, unsightly even.

"And what if I don't get up at all? You know, you can't just hoist me around like you want and throw me over your horse like a sack of potatoes, that would raise suspicion." Not that Ronan would mind, in fact, it probably would be uncomfortable but enjoyable in its own regard - not, that he did these things often, let alone with Henry. Even if he was friends with the crown prince, if there was one person busier than him, it was Henry himself who seemed to be given absolutely no free time, whatsoever. "My excuse?", he peered up, rubbed his eyes like a child, cleared his throat. If he was good at one thing, then it was acting, and right now, he clutched his chest with both of his hands, averted his gaze from Caelan and looked for a spot between the leaves. "I", he coughed, sounded almost miserably convincing while doing so. "Am horribly sick and", again, he coughed, raising his hand to his mouth, shivering on the spot where he stood. "My fellow lord, has decided to", another cough, his voice sounded wavering. "Bring me to a doctor." After that, Ronan shook his body, looked up again and stopped the fake act. "I hope that's convincing to some degree", he said and did as Caelan told him - this would, most likely, feel weird if not foreign, but he could make do. "Hurry up or I might leave without you", he joked, now fully awake and ready to actually move on.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "I can't?", he asked with a slight laugh, after all he was Caelan of Fhaergus, couldn't he do whatever he wanted? Well, maybe not with someone like Ronan who basically was the same as him, the oldest son of a duke, but when he was just thrown on the horse somehow, maybe no one would even see his face and then it didn't matter in the end. Now he looked at Ronan, he coughed and shivered and for a moment even Caelan believed what he did there, keeping himself from asking if he was alright, after all he just demonstrated his plan, or did he not? "You're... a good actor.", Caelan said after the little show was over and Ronan to be that good was almost weird, after all he was some times so easy to figure out. "That should work.", Caelan decided and after Ronan climbed on the horse, he himself swung himself on it to sit behind Ronan. "Shut up...", he smiled, moving his arms past him and taking the reins in his hand, shortly after they were on their way.

"Is it comfortable like this?", Caelan asked, he never sat on the horse with another person and they were lucky the saddle somehow fit both of them... well at least Ronan hadn't complained until now. Caelan was fine and it was easy for him to see where they were going, Ronan was small enough to be able to look over him, but Caelan instead leaned a little bit downwards and looked past him on the side. He didn't need directions to find his way to Alster from here and there were signs indicating where they had to go as well, but at some point Ronan would need to tell him where to lead their horses. For now the tempo wasn't that fast, Caelan wanted to see if they both had enough grip to go a little faster first, his horse had to manage the additional weight as well, but Caelan didn't think this was a problem. Neither of them was fat and while Caelan probably weight more than Ronan, Ronan wasn't causing too much additional weight. Together they probably had the weight of one fat person and their horses managed it too, right? He still kept his horse checked for the rest of the journey and at the evening, maybe they could switch to Ronans to have his own rest a little bit with only the saddlebags to carry. "Do we need to stop somewhere, buy something? I don't know... something to eat maybe? Bread and cheese?"
    • "Unfortunately I'm not a regular sack of potatoes. Maybe they'd think you have a hostage", Ronan mused. He wouldn't mind being Caelans hostage, but he wasn't some damsel that needed to be stolen away from home, or even kidnapped by a noble who found her so endearing that he had to make her his wife; that wasn't the case here. Instead, they both were stealing one another away from their reponsibilities and dragging each other to an isolated cabin in the woods. "You're giving me too much credit. I just use the material I have accordingly and try to make the best of my situation", he explained to Caelan. It was true that he usually did his best to deceive people around him, but being able to act sick on a whim sometimes helped him to get out of things he didn't want to do - especially if he knew they were happening in advance. Of course his parents caught wind after a while, but to the untrained eye, it looked genuine. "If it convinces you, it should be enough ... and no, I won't shut up, ever." Right now it was his time to tease Caelan, even if they were together on the same horse and the path was a long but rewarding one.

"Yes, very", Ronan answered. Maybe he should have agreed to sit behind Caelan, but then he'd fallen off sooner or later if he actually fell asleep, so this was better. He felt safe right here and right now, even when the horses started to move, he still could lean back just a bit and cuddle up to Caelan in some weird way. Instead of watching the scenery, he focused on the rhythmic sounds that the hooves were making and closed his eyes - just for a moment was, what he'd told himself. What a lie. It wouldn't be far to Alster from here, but they'd do better to hurry up and maybe find a nice spot for their eventual break - at least one. "I don't have much in the hut, so yes ... but don't worry, we'll stop in the last town before the woods, they have whatever we need", but even that was quite the stretch to the cabin. Yes, it was on the way, but in reality, the cabin was so isolated that there was nothing around it but the forest and some wanderers, if they ever found their way into that area. "If you're up for a walk, we could leave the horses there ... if not, I'm sure they'll both fit in the small stable at the cabin." The cabin itself had belonged to his family for how long, exactly? Well, it didn't matter - the only thing that did was, that it was secluded and would fit all their needs.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "And what would they do if they think Caelan of Fhaergus has a hostage? Nothing much I guess, als long as they don't know it's you!", Caelan laughed, but probably it wouldn't be very comfortable for Ronan if he was just thrown over the horse like a sack of potatoes and Caelan wanted quite the opposite. He even leaned back as far as he could so Ronan had it easier to lean on him, even if he should fall asleep after all. I that happened Caelan could wrap one arm completely around him to keep him on his horse, he only needed one to take care of navigating. However, if he tried to keep doing that the whole ride, his muscles at his stomach and back would probably ache the next day... on the other hand it was good training. "I couldn't act that well I guess. So take my compliment!", Caelan grinned, it was surely convincing enough. Caelan pretty much knew that Ronan was fine and he still had worried and he had no idea how he even managed to look that sick in a matter of seconds. Maybe it helped that his skin was pale naturally.

"You know... if you really want to sleep and have it comfortable, you could also turn to the side, oder face me. I would be able to support your head that way... and give you a kiss if you wanted.", the second part of the sentence more or less came to his head just as he was already talking, having Ronan close and not kiss him the whole ride seemed almost impossible, after all he was right there in front of him. Caelan leaned forward right away and pressed a small kiss on Ronans cheek. "When it gets colder, you can borrow my coat again too, if you want.", he smiled and was pretty sure he didn't need it necessarily himself. "Sure, just guide me. Some general directions, in case you'll fall asleep? I'd just followed the road to Alsters capital for now. What's the name of the town we stop at?" He didn't know where the cabin was, not at all, so he could only guess and since it was secluded, he'd probably never find it. The more information he got now, the better and the smaller the chances of Caelan having to wake up Ronan, though maybe he stayed awake anyway. "We're faster with the horses, even at night. I'd take them and I can take care of them, no problem."
    • "I doubt they could do anything against a young heir stealing away a poor peasants daughter, so you should be fine. Still, I don't imagine it would be all that comfortable being handled like a sack of potatoes, you know?" With all due respect, he wouldn't mind getting manhandled by Caelan of all people, but he didn't have to admit to that, nor was he prompted to confess such a thing right now. They both should take their time, see what this day would end up giving them and then, when all was said and done, they'd see for themselves what they liked best and what it was that they absolutely despised. For now, they actually had to get there and in reality, that would take some time - a few hours, to be exact. "I will, I will - don't worry", Ronan mumbled, already getting sleepier the further they moved away from their little lovenest and wondering if this all was related somehow, or if he should have just not closed his eyes earlier. Whatever it was, it didn't matter - they were on their way and eventually, they'd arrive, wouldn't they? "Mh, I could, but that would be a bit of a hassle, so this is fine ... I think", right now, he really regretted not getting on that horse behind Caelan, didn't he?

He was getting drowsier again and all those impressions he had earlier seemed to drown and fade out one after the other - yes, he very much was aware that he still had things to take care of, mainly attend to Caelan and not just enjoy that soft, short kiss of his that he had received. "That would be nice", he mused, thinking about those stupid warm coats from Fhaergus - they didn't have something from Alster, but Ronan did like the one that he had gotten from Caelan when they were sleeping at the lake the first time, though, he had his own and he wouldn't want Caelan to get needlessly cold. "Mh, even if I fall asleep, I don't think that I'll sleep until you need directions, but sure. The best thing you can do is ride until you almost reach the capital. It's a bit stupid to explain, but once you do see the walls on the horizon, there's two directions - either toward the capital or you can continue on the road you've been on. Choose that one. If you follow the road, you'll just need to choose the left exit when you reach the next fork in the road and follow the small path from there, all the way to Kilead. That should be something like a dead end and also the last town we could possibly stop at", he talked much, but the directions were necessary so that Caelan would understand and he could lean back indefinitely, until he had to wake up because his lover had become unsure of their plans. "Alright then, I'll take your word for it."

A few more words back and forth, Ronan eventually succumbed to sleep. It wasn't a long one, or at least he thought it wasn't, but once he had opened his eyes again, they already were in Alster and his neck hurt a bit from the uncomfortable position. Once they'd made their way deeper into the country, they stopped and took a short break, relaxed a little bit and then shifted all of their belongings from one horse to the other, just so that they could spend the rest of their way on his own - and thankfully, said horse wasn't all that mad about having Caelan handle him. The sun was already setting once they'd set out to leave again and, now fully awake, Ronan actually could afford to light their way from time to time with an improvised torch if they needed to - the way to Kilead was not only full of snow and ice, there also were some trees that had fallen over and Ronan knew that all too well; nobody lived out here, not a single noble soul, and therefore, nobody cared all that much when the temperatures were as low as this. For now, however, they did have to ride all the way back there and once they did, Ronan was somewhat glad that it already was early enough for them to buy some of their stuff at a local bakery - try as one might, he was tired again and Caelan probably could use the rest too.

Thankfully, the cabin wasn't all that far from Kilead, but still far enough that it would probably be morning and the sun would be rising anyway - and Ronan was proven right. Out here, atop of a hill, stood a small cabin, ever so slightly worn down by the weather, but it fulfilled its job. There was nothing out here, just snow and trees, just this little hill that it was standing on - and Kilead was so far away that it was so late already, even the sun managed to shine through the many trees. It didn't take long for them to stop, or for Ronan to press a quick kiss to Caelans lips before he got off the horse - no. He fumbled with something in his pocket and pulled out a key, but before he could unlock anything, he led the horses - with Caelan atop of his own - to the small stable adjenct to the cabin. "Can you put the horses in there? I'll go check if the cabin itself is alright and then we can take a nap", he mumbled and try as one might, was still holding the stuff they'd picked up at the bakery, tugged under his arms in the same burlap sack they'd borrowed to actually transport it. The key almost creaked in the rusty locky and as Ronan opened the door itself, he sneezed as dust was wafting right into his direction - great. The burlap sack itself was deposited on the table that the young noble spotted, that was that.

At least the sun illuminated the place well enough for him to see things and before he even could think about anything else, he stepped in one of the two siderooms that this cabin had - the bedroom. Rummagging through the closet there, all dusty itself, he found a fresh sheet and almost ripped the old ones off - yes, they were in fact, stained with blood. Ronan, being Ronan, shoved those back into the closet equally as fast, put the new ones on and sighed in relief. After that, he also retrieved a second blanket from said closet and closed it behind him, lay the blanket out on the bed and made sure that there was enough pillows for both of them, which, yes, there was. Once that was done, he went outside, got a few pieces of wood and put it into both of the fireplaces - one in the main room, the other in the bedroom and lighted it on fire as fast as he could, before he wanted to rush back out to Caelan and help him drag in their belongings which ... maybe he should have helped beforehand? A few quick steps outside later, he found himself in the small stable. "Do you need any help?"
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • Caelan tried to remember the directions he got and that was good, because at some point Ronan did fall asleep after all in his arms. His head sunk forward and his breathing got more shallow, while Caelan wondered if the constant up and down didn't disturb him. He changed his position slightly, so Ronan could rest his head on Caelans arm, he tried to support him as good as he could, but this couldn't be comfortable and Ronans neck would hurt as soon as he woke up. He didn't want to turn, so Caelan let him sleep like this without waking him and instead was focusing on the road and the landscape. Alster was colder than Lavern, a lot actually, though one could see that it was spring. The snow was already melting, but still present, flowers fought their way out of said snow to tell the world that the winter was finally over. Here and there were already yellow and blue pedals in contrast to the white snow. The trees had little green buds on their branches, soon Alster would be green again too, while Fhaergus needed at least three more months to fully wake up and welcome some warmth. Ronan woke up after already crossing the borders, a little bit sleepy and probably with a stiff neck.

It was good timing, Caelan started to feel unsure about the way and it also was a good time to eat the remainder of their food and change horses. Ronans horse was easy to handle and had no problem at all with two people instead of one, Caelans own horse could relax just a little bit the rest of the way. When it got dark they needed to ride a little bit slower, especially when they left the bigger roads for some small one which didn't seem like a lot of people came through or cared about. Sometimes there was a fallen tree in the middle of the road, some wood was laid around it, probably for carriages with goods to pass past and not get stuck in the snow and the mud underneath. They didn't want their horses to fall so they had to light the way sometimes and at other times just let the horses slowly find their own way around a blockage. It was kind of funny and exciting and Caelan had his fun traveling on this forsaken road until they reached their last stop before the cabin where they bought what they needed. For the rest of the way even Caelan got tired finally, but he was awake enough to lead the horses and follow Ronans directions. His arms were wrapped around him a little bit tighter since they had reached Alster and both of them wore their coats now. As soon as they arrived at the cabin Caelan looked around just a little bit, he would have enough time after they slept.

In front of the stables he got off the horse and nodded. "Sure, I'll manage it.", he smiled and watched Ronan go inside while he lead the horses inside the stable. First he unpacked them and put their belongings at the ground for now, he also removed the saddles and the bridles, then he found some time to pet both of them a little bit, after all they did a great job and managed to run almost twentyfour hours with only two short breaks. Next he searched for some water and found a barrel with rainwater outside, he also found a bucket and gave the horses some fresh water to drink. Then he started to collect all their belongings and shouldered their bags, he just took the last one in his hand when Ronan came to him again. "Nope, I've got everything.", he answered with a smile and made his way into the cabin for the first time. He looked around a little bit, left his dirty boots at the door and let the bags fall to the ground for now. There was one adjacent room and this had to be the bedroom. "Is everything finished up for now?", he asked Ronan while already grabbing his hand and dragging him to the second room. There was it, a bed and it looked like Ronan had already finished up in here. Caelan dragged Ronan with him into bed, already lying down and not caring about getting rid of any of his clothes except his coat. He was tired, he wanted to hold Ronan and just sleep.
    • They both had been awake for far too long anyway, at least Ronan thought that they were - and in honesty, he probably wasn't wrong at all. Before he could say anything worthwhile, Caelan was already dragging him back inside - the stable door was at least closed tight and so was the shabby door to the hutchs entrance. "I'm pretty much done for now", he answered, as best as he could anyway, but before he managed to get rid of anything, Caelan had already dragged him to their bed and was hellbent on going to sleep like this. The young noble couldn't help but sigh. "Caelan, I have to take off my shoes first", he mumbled and, as he sat there, just quickly undid those stupids boots of his and helped the blonde with his own, swiftly tossing them aside and getting rid of his own coat, before he lay down, patted the spot next to him and as soon as he was welcome to enjoy the blondes embrace, was fast asleep, just as expected. They both were tired and their horses could use some rest too - everything else was going to have to happen after they woke up once again, but not now.

How long did they sleep? Well, they hadn't pulled the blinds shut and the orange tint that was creeping in through the window told Ronan that he had been asleep for at least a few hours, if not for half of the day. His eyes hurt and his hair probably looked worse than before, but he was still cuddled up to Caelan who - to his surprise - wasn't awake just yet. As soon as he had made sure that he was, in fact, awake, he slipped out of the blondes grasp and back to the other room, started tending to the fire there and fed it some more fuel, grabbed the key from the lock and hung it from a hook in the wall next to it and then - ever so tenderly and silently, started to unpack their belongings and light a candle or two so that it wouldn't be completely dark in this room later on. Most of their stuff went into the cupboards over the fireplace which, unlike the one in the bedroom, was meant for actually cooking their meals and heating their water. Then, the other stuff, he had to leave aside - he didn't take his dirty laundry with him, instead had packed it with his other belongings that were being sent back to the capital directly, but what about Caelan? He could was it if he needed to, but for that he needed water and it wouldn't be a bad idea to go figure out how to maybe cook a broth with the stuff they had bought earlier, but ... instead, Ronan slipped back into the bedroom. "Wake up, sleepyhead", he softly murmured as he shook Caelan just a bit.

    • As soon as Caelan tugged his arm around Ronan he was asleep, just like that. He hadn't really noticed how tired he was in the stable and as long as he had something to do, but when he had sat down, the tiredness overpowered him. He needed to force himself to stay awake and not whine while Ronan untied his stupid complicated boots and when he finally was able to hold him, he didn't even think of pulling a blanket over the two of them. It was warm enough inside for him already anyway, especially since he didn't take off his shirt or pants and his brain did not have enough energy in that moment to think about Ronan, he hopefully just grabbed a blanket himself. Caelan had to be sleeping like a rock, not moving and almost nothing could wake him up, it was always different when he was in nature as opposed to a hut, he didn't need to have his guard up and he was able to sleep for hours, especially since he had no reason to wake up anyway. He didn't notice when Ronan woke up and left his side and he didn't hear him rummaging through their bags, he only woke up when he heard his voice and a hand on his body.

"Mhh... no!", was his answer, pressing his face into his pillow. "Easy to wake up for someone sleeping half the trip...", he mumbled, but he knew that he in fact should wake up. On the other hand... why? They were at their destination and they had something to eat, it was warm and he didn't even sleep through the next night, he saw the light through his closed eyes and he heard some birds singing outside. Was there any work to do? Well... he didn't want to read now, but maybe he could eat something. Did Ronan want meat for dinner? Dinner was yet to come anytime soon probably. "...why...?", he asked, still not moving his head out of the pillow. But the buttons on his shirt annoyed him, it was to tight anyway and not comfortable to lie in bed with. His pants annoyed him as well... but he shouldn't act like this, he should just sit up and do whatever Ronan wanted of him, didn't he?"
    • Peeling Caelan out of bed sounded like a solid idea right about now, but what then? Would that really, truly suffice for him or did he maybe, actually want more than just that? Well, his shirt was wrinkled and his hair was looking horrible so he could at least heat up some water and then inspect the lousy thing that he called bathroom in this place and maybe give it a quick clean before he could sink into the even lousier tub. "Look at you, now you're the one that whines about getting up", he chuckled and eventually ceased his shaking and sad down beside Caelan, stroking his hair - they both could use a bath after their little swim in the lake and maybe they could stand to lose some of their clothes in the process. They could change into something more comfortable, more suited for shedding on a whim if need be. "I thought we could take a bath and wash up", he answered and let go of Caelan, his frail fingers moving alongside his back instead and sporadically tugged on non-specific spots on the shirt he was wearing. It suited him and the fabric was nice, but it sure as hell was uncomfortable to sleep in this thing.

"But the water isn't even warm yet, so you can stay where you are for now ... but get out of your shirt, that can't be comfortable." Then, he got up and walked over to the door once again, only to bring some more firewood from the next room back and put it in the fireplace to keep the bedroom nice and warm. Then, he walked over to the window and pulled the curtains shut to block out the remaining light. "Don't stress yourself", he assured Caelan, took his boots and without a care, just slipped into them, went outside to grab some water from those rain barrels and brought the two buckets back inside, before he closed the door behind him and peered back into the bedroom. Was it Caelans time to be sleepy now? God, who knew. Ronan wound up searching for some things before he could finally afford to put the black pot into the kitchens fireplace and poured the cold water from outside into it, eventually having to leave to get more and fill this stupid thing to the brim. While they were taking their bath, he theoretically could let the broth simmer, no? Well, if he figured out how to make that, actually. Right now, he was trying to heat the water up and not get it to cook, still hoping that his lover would be cooperative and get up sometime soon. Though, the blondes current tiredness also left some room or him to actually go peer in the only other room this place had and, thankfully, it looked better than he'd remembered - wasn't that just great? Satisfied with the fact he wouldn't have to clean out the bathtub, he stretched and then attended the water in the pot. Should he try to wake up Caelan once more? No, that'd just be mean.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • Caelan just mumbled in his pillow, probably no one could understand that, but he soon enough felt Ronans hand in his hair. It felt nice and the tiredness struck him again, only now he had no bad conscience anymore. His body relaxed again, he also felt Ronans fingers wander to his back, felt the cold skin trough his shirt and it felt good, he remembered why they were here and just that already felt better here than at that event or out in nature. Here they were safe, no one would disturb them, no one would find them, Caelan loved that and he loved Ronans slight touch. "Bath... sounds good...", he mumbled and thinking about it... well would they take a bath together? Probably depended on how big Ronans tub was, but Caelan hoped they'd fit both. He should get up already, shouldn't he? In the end he would just hate himself for wasting all this time, but he still felt tired. Though if he didn't wake up completely soon, his sleep rhythm would completely get out of control, he wouldn't be able to actually sleep at night probably. What was Ronan doing there, why didn't he feel his fingers anymore...?

"Don't... go...", Caelan mumbled into his pillow again, slowly raised his arm but let it fall back in bed soon after. Ronan went outside, probably to care about the bath he wanted to take. Caelan should get out of his shirt? Wasn't that Ronans job? He always unbuttoned this damn shirt and Caelan wanted him to do it again, not do it himself. Ronan rumbled about, Caelan heard the door and he heard him come back and do some other stuff. It got a little darker and finally Caelan had convinced himself to sit up. He stretched himself, wanted to fall back into bed but instead stood up completely and searched for Ronan. He was too tired to pay much attention to the cabin yet though. "Is the bathtub big enough for two...?", he asked still somewhat sleepy while he fumbled with the buttons on his shirt and leaning against the doorframe. Those stupid buttons didn't want to come undone...
    • Whenever he came out here, it felt bleak and lonely in a matter of seconds, but right now - right here with Caelan by his side - it couldn‘t be better. Ronan wasn‘t sure why, or how, but all in all, it just seemed like the ball of sunshine did a good job at keeping him motivated as well and he wouldn‘t waste that opportunity. A bath it was, but even if Caelan just mumbled those words and couldn‘t differentiate between dream and reality right now, that was fine - it didn‘t matter, not for now anyway, they were having their fair share of fun and that was alright. Silence did befall them eventually, mainly because he was pacing around the room anyway and his lover wasn‘t awake yet, not at all - but that was fine, he‘d make do. For now, he actually searched the pantry for the stuff they had, in fact, brought with them and among other things searched for one of those accursed recipe books among his stash of things - it couldn‘t be that hard to make a broth with milk base, if he even had bothered to ask for some milk back in Kilead and had gotten what he had wanted, no?

Ronan searched through the book as soon as he found it and eventually set it down on the small space he had to work with in his kitchen, let his eyes run over it and decided for himself that he understood what cooking was and what a bunch of jumbled letters were. Sadly, he couldn‘t start just yet, but instead, he could take care of that little bath of theirs - and of Caelan, who had forced himself out of his eternal slumber. „I assume so, not that I‘ve ever tried it“, he answered and walked up to Caelan, tiptoeing to press a kiss to his lips and shoo away those clumsy hands from his shirt to do it himself. „And here I thought you knew how buttons work“, he chastised the blonde and only was satisfied when all of the buttons were open and he could shove his hands in there, touching his lovers sides and giving him a gentle squeeze. „So, what‘s that thing I owe you all about? You said you were going to tell me at the hutch“, he mumbled and immediately let go of the blonde again as he made his way back to the pot, daringly held his hand up to the steam coming from it and decided that - while it wasn‘t boiling just yet - it probably was hot enough already. Without further questioning it, he grabbed one of the smaller pots and a ladle and started to fill the hot water into that one, moving back and forth between bathroom and kitchen a few times to actually fill up the tub, until he was left with some leftover water and warm hands - which he didn‘t mind, at all. But instead of caring for the food right now, he went back to Caelan. „Did you sleep well?“

    • Taking a bath together sounded nice and eating did as well, though Caelan wasn't sure how Ronan wanted to time those two things, he just tiredly watched Ronan read a book in the so called kitchen, until he came closer to him and gave him a kiss. Caelans mouth felt still weird, probably because he wasn't fully awake yet and the buttons didn't want to come undone as well. That was probably why Ronan took matters in his own two hands to unbutton Caelans shirt for him. "You're always doing it for me, I must have gotten out of practise...", Caelan made a slight and tired joke and wrapped his arms around Ronan as well as soon as he hugged him, with his shirt open. Ronan however moved away again soon enough while Caelan triedto remember his wish. "Ah... well. I had two ideas, though I could combine them to one. One of which would be possible now though and I don't know if I wanna wait...", he explained, not giving an answer just yet and he was interrupted by a yawn. He watches Ronan walk back and forth meanwhile, he probably should help... "Can I help you?", he asked slowly, still standing in the doorframe, but maybe he should rather search for something to wear either now or at least after the bath.

Caelan turned to his bags, searching for a comfortable shirt without buttons that didn't crease as easily and that wasn't as stiff. He found something, finally got out of his shirt completely and threw the other one over his shoulder to wear later after their bath. Ronan also was finished with carrying water back and forth and came back to him, Caelan smiled and pulled him into a tight hug. "I... yeah... too short I guess, but that's fine, we'll go to bed at a normal time in a few hours and tomorrow we'll have a good rhythm again... hopefully.", he smiled, not letting go of Ronan. "I should be happy that we're finally here, but I think I haven't realized it yet... still need to wake up a little, but... you asked about my wish." Caelan softly pushed Ronan from him again so he could look at him, he even made himself a little smaller, so Ronan didn't have to look up all the time. One hand wandered to Ronans chin, softly holding him and looking him in the eyes with a smile, not letting him go or look away so easily. "I wanted you to strip for me... there is an opportunity now... and I wanted to see what you read in those books, have me demonstrate what you already tried, we talked about it. But it seems unfair to not have you join me in the bathtub immedietly after you stripped naked, while I'm already sitting in the warm water. Just for clarification though, I don't just want you to take off your clothes, it'll only count as my wish fullfilled if you do it right and show me that beautiful body of yours."
    • No matter what he did, he didn‘t really want to cook right now - he‘d rather enjoy Caelans warm embrace, shedding layer after layer of clothing and then continuing on toward their bathtub to enjoy not only the warm water, but also wash all of that lake stuff out of his hair that - not that it would matter anyway. „Always? Caelan, we haven‘t known each other that long“, he murmured. Well, if he wasn‘t a man, who knew? Maybe his mother would have entertained the idea of engaging her daughter to the duke of Fhaergus and maybe they would have known each other since their childhood, but alas, Ronan was a young man and incidentally, they both had the misfortune of his father hating not only Caelan but also Allard, which - in turn - contributed to the two of them not knowing one another all that well. Being held tight felt nice, as well as being close to Caelan did, well, that was always the case though and Ronan was sure that these faint moments weren‘t going to last forever, let alone for long. „Then I‘ll not wake you up the next time, but let me hear those things you had in mind.“

It wasn‘t until after he had finished filling up the bathtub that he actually managed to get a viable answer out of Caelan and it truly wasn‘t a good look on either of them to stand there, in the hallway, half dressed and so close to one another. „So you‘re still halfway in that little dreamland of yours. That‘s a shame“, and a nice, warm bath wouldn‘t wake his lover up, not at all. But what could he do? Caelan was who he was and Ronan wasn‘t any better, so of course he was the one that got saddled with the sleepy blonde now, when he had been the one that had slept almost the entirety of yesterday on a damn horseback. Being held by Caelan felt nice, but being shoved away almost foreign - even when his hand moved to his chin instead, held him tight and forced Ronan to meet his gaze, he didn‘t want to, felt warmth crawl upward into his cheeks - why, even? „I can see it sounding unfair, after all I get cold so easily and why on earth would you deny me a good bath when I feel this disgusting? Please, Caelan“, he sighed and then grabbed the blondes wrist, shook his head and took his hand down. „Strip? For you? Do you think I have any idea?“, Ronan laughed, started unbuttoning his own shirt - what in the hell was he supposed to do? He didn‘t slide out of it immediately, instead he just exposed those shoulders of his once he had gotten rid of Caelans grip. His hands moved onto Caelans body instead, he leaned forward and kissed the blonde, bit his lower lip - and couldn‘t keep his hands to himself at all, slowly circling across the blondes exposed chest. „I don‘t know anything, you know“, he whispered into Caelans ear, ever so slowly and soft.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "Since I know you... so it's always...", Caelan retaliated almost sounding like a child. He wanted to keep holding Ronan but he understood that he had stuff to do, especially if they wanted to take a bath at one point, it didn't fill itself up on its own after all. Caelan kept thinking, did he ever take a bath with someone else? No, he didn't think so and he wasn't sure if this would work in a bathtub located in a tiny cabin in some forsaken woods, it probably wasn't luxurious and big, not like the ones in a mansion. Well, they would manage it somehow and hopefully they didn't make too much of a mess, after all there were no servants here that could clean that up for them, so they'd probably had to clean the floor themselves, if the water didn't stay in the tub were it belonged. What would they even do in there? Caelan was again just a little bit nervous, he obviously had needed the alcohol the first time they spent a night in Ronans room to do what he did without betting an eye. "Oh no... it's good you woke me up. If I had woken up later I'd not been able to get into bed when it's appropriate.", he smiled, it was true. If he had slept a few hours more and had been wide awake in the middle of the night, it wouldn't get better the next day either.

"Why...? Do you need me wide awake for something?", Caelan asked smiling. Wasn't Ronan the one who liked to take the lead? Well with a tired Caelan that wasn't hard, though he was getting to his senses little by little, he just wasn't overly motivated to do anything. While holding Ronans chin he saw the fellow nobles cheeks turn red again, just like he wanted them to look and he couldn't help smiling. "I know... which is why I won't ask it of you now... though the room is so small, the fireplace warms it up pretty good, doesn't it?" He kept smiling, even when Ronan made him let go. He watched him unbuttoning his own shirt now, exposing nothing more than his shoulders for now and coming closer right after. Bites from Ronan, even those little ones always left the spot stinging. His hands touched Caelans skin and a small and almost silent laugh escaped Caelans throat, after hearing Ronans voice and feeling a shiver forming on his skin. "I can see that silly...", he said with a grin on his face, moving one hand into Ronans hair. He softly pulled on it to be able to see his face. "I can't see anything like that and that's actually the point, also... I'm standing in a doorframe, shouldn't I be comfortable? Like in bed, on a chair or in the bathtub I only let you join me in if you have satisfied me before? Without touching me that is. That's for later.", he softly said and pulled on Ronans hair a little more, exposing his neck like that to kiss his soft and pale skin. Then he shoved Ronan from him and grabbed the shirt hanging from his body to put it back on his shoulders. His grin grew broader while he kept looking at Ronan. "From the start. And first things first, finishing up preparing for the bath or the food, whichever you have planned first. I'll help you."
    • "Getting a bit bold with that one", Ronan chimed, knowing fully well that they both hadn't even known one another for a week - at least not like this. He didn't mind, not one bit - after all, Caelan was his puppy and anyone who tried to contest that would have a hard time trying to get the young nobles mind out of the gutter anyway. Right now, right here, they were on their own and the only thing that they could be missing was some nice candlelight that set the mood just right, though, whatever they had right now also worked well enough for them. "I guess we'll crawl back into bed sooner or later then - good, I wouldn't want our sleep schedule to suffer too much", the young noble sighed - actually, why did he even care? They both could do whatever they wanted and if they desired to pursue their carnal instincts, time wasn't a big factor anyway, let alone something Ronan would care about all that much. Right now, right here, all that mattered was Caelan and all he cared about should be Caelan, so why even bother with other things? Why even try?

"Hm, maybe I do - unless you want to be spoon fed", he remarked, but knew well enough that he didn't plan on cooking at all - not now, anyway. Instead, he had hoped that he could spice things up just a little bit, that he could stay where he was and just do the bare minimum of work so that Caelan would save him a bit of embarrassment - but no. "I prefer not lying on the floor, but yes, the fireplace does its job quite well - that's what it's here for", he mumbled and wanted to concentrate on the blonde, wanted to gift him another kiss and give him some more love, but he didn't - there was no chance to, not even once. "Oh, you do? The-", he didn't get further, instead he felt Caelans hand finding its way into his hair, grabbing a fistful and pulling it ever so slightly. Ronan was on edge, without Caelan needing to put in effort - it felt horribly good and a shiver ran down his spine soon after he had felt that pull. Any words he had in mind had died in his throat as he listened to the soft musings of his lover, of the many words he spouted that only riled him up even more, maybe without even meaning to. "I'm sorry, of course you should see something. I'll be nice and obedient if you want me to, but satisfying you without being able to touch you will be hard", Ronan croaked, his voice hoarse and his throat dry. What kind of witchcraft was this? Caelan had him in his grasp and the sheer thought of 'later' had him shiver in anticipation, had warmth pool in his stomach - it was unfair. An easy to miss gasp escaped his throat as Caelan pulled on his hair again, but that's where i stopped and this stupid shirt of his had wandered back up his shoulders. "Whatever you say", he mused - his eyes were probably hazy with anticipation anyway. "Bathing first, food later - I feel disgusting ... at least my body does. The water should be warm enough, but I don't blame you if you want to let it cool off first - try it."
