    • "Rewarded? For what?", Caelan asked chuckling, Ronan was pretty eager to always reward him for the smallest of things. "You are the one spoiling me, you know?" He laughed, after all wasn't he already gaining something by watching Ronan? The thought alone made his cheeks flash up already and he wasn't even sure if Ronan would be able to fight down his embarrassment and actually touch himself in front of Caelan, while he also wasn't sure if he himself could watch just like that without getting nervous or the other way around wanting in on the fun. He was never good at sitting still, he never had a girl he really wanted to touch, so Ronan was completely different and the situation would be different, but he was pretty sure he couldn't just sit still. Ronan would have to chain Caelan to his chair.

"Your cheeks flashing up and you trying to hide from my gaze is cute!", Caelan explained, not making a secret out of him seeing all that, though Ronan tried to hide it. He wasn't too embarrassed to stare at Caelan for a moment though, after he stood up and pulled his pants down and for a brief moment he felt a little bit insecure, before a grin crept on his face. "You like what you see?", he asked, following Ronan to the shore and dipping his feet in the cold water. Again his hands were grabbed and Ronan tiptoed to give Caelan a little kiss, had he known he would have leaned down a little bit more to not make it as hard on him. With his long hair and tender figure he probably didn't raise any suspicion, even if someone saw them from afar, which was very unlikely. Caelan leaned in the touch on his cheek, smiling. It was feeling nice being out in the open, with Ronan naked, kissing him... it didn't feel like hiding away in a room and that was very nice. Caelan followed Ronan in the cold water and when the water was deep enough, he jumped in head first, diving a few meters and resurfacing next to Ronan. He used one hand to pull his wet hair back and looked at Ronan. "Wanna do a race?"
    • "I still owe you a reward, since I went back on my word before, but giving you a reward out here is kind of hard, you know?" Ronan wasn't even sure what to come up with - he had no idea what Caelan liked, had no memory or general recollection of what he could gift the blonde and yet he was the one who was supposedly not only corrupting his lover, but also spoiling him a tad bit too much. "You deserve that once in a while, though", the noble remarked, knowing well enough that both of them could need some spoiling, that it was perfectly fine for them to yearn for what they couldn't have. To praise Caelan was one thing, to spoil him another and yet, Ronan enjoyed all of it was more than he should, felt lie he'd left this world simply by laying his eyes onto the body before him and thinking too fast, too much about so many things he would want the blonde to do to him - so soon, yet so far away. Would it hurt if they rushed into it? Most likely. But it didn't matter, all that mattered was, that they would wind up enjoying themselves, enjoying one another and that was, in all honesty, nothing bad, even if it was a carnal sin against a god that yet had to prove he existed.

"So you like it when I'm all shy and embarrassed!?", he blurted out, yet he was almost bewitched by Caelans words. He cared him for him, liked him as he was - there was no need to hide himself behind a shell of anger and indifference, there was no need to try and pretend. The blonde would pry all of it open, break him out of his cage and tear off his shackles without even wanting to and he was left here, trying his best to help Caelan do the same and failing ever so often. Then, Ronan cooed and as he did, laughter broke from his lips. "I ... ah. Yes. Very much ... so, in fact", the noble stammered, got caught again and was happy enough to have the water almost submerge him, but ... he was even more happy that he could be here, alongside the blonde, take a swim and just enjoy the still cold lake under the glistening moonshine, far away from so many hungry eyes. Ronan wondered if a passerby would see them, their shadowy figures, and if they'd stare, on and on, while the two nobles did whatever they wanted. "Ever the energetic puppy", he remarked upon Caelans resurfacing and looked at the noble that was now right next to him - and still so incredible tall. "You'll win that one. But sure. What did you have in mind?"
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "I can wait... I think.", Caelan chuckled, he knew very well that although they were naked now and exchanged a short kiss, it was still dangerous out here, even if this place was pretty secluded and dark. Though on second thought there wasn't much that could happen to them actually... if some peasant or bandit or traveler saw them he would need to recognize their faces first and even if he did, who would believe a stranger that he saw the heir of Alster and the heir of Fhaergus kiss each other? Would he be able to prove it? No chance, even if it was a group of people, there was always gossip and they wouldn't dare to tell any official anyway, not with Darragh of Alster involved who'd maybe would just behead them for spouting nonsense about his lineage and dragging his own name into the dirt. "Once in a while sounds strange when we only know each other for a few days...", Caelan noticed chuckling again and decided to not worry too much.

"It's pretty cute and it's being yourself.", Caelan explained and he liked seeing how Ronan really felt when he was not hiding behind his frown, which he didn't show all too much since he first got him to smile a little bit. Even that somewhat embarrassed laugh was like music to him. Caelan grinned hearing that answer, though he wasn't really sure about his own body and he never really cared how it looked. Yes he was strong, but he didn't work out to look like this, he just did whatever he was feeling like, because he enjoyed it and this was the result and the rest... well he couldn't do anything about that as well. Caelan looked around, searching for a suitable goal that was clearly visible to both of them and turning in the water next to Ronan. "It'll warm you up!", he smiled and pointed in one direction. "See the reed over there? The first one to touch one wins. On the count of three or something? Do you want to count down?"
    • "You think? That isn't a really convincing answer, you know?", Ronan couldn't help but snort. Was he that irresistible that Caelan could no longer contain himself by keeping his hands to himself, or was it all in good faith anyway and the two of them would have their fair share of awkward encounters from here on out? It didn't feel bad to be wanted if he was honest, it steered up something inside of him that Ronan wasn't aware of himself, but for now it sufficed to know that he was loved, cherished - that Caelan was there. "You're ... right. But I don't think anyone else ever really thought about spoiling you, or did they? What I was trying to say, I do like spoiling you already." Acceptance was a step in the right direction and the truth was that the two of them could use every bit of right direction that they could find - if anyone saw them like this, who cared? Ronan didn't, Caelan didn't and as long as it wasn't a fellow noble, his father would probably blow their life out like the flickering flame on a candle - swift and without mercy, because that was just who Darragh was and nobody stopped him, not even the king ... except, maybe he did.

"B-But I ... I'm ... well, fuck." Caelan had busted him - he wasn't strong, he wasn't confident and he wasn't always sour. Ronan was, in fact, easily to embarrass and shy overall. The scowl he wore on his face served to scare off potential new friends and also so that he could read in peace - yes, he was easy to anger and if he did get angry, he exploded like a bunch of fireworks, but all in all, he was nothing more than a tired and shy noble that didn't know the first thing about approaching others, or about social constructs. Once, when he was little, he might have known more, but back then - when basically everyone in the same age was ones friend - he probably wasn't even able to form a somewhat coherent thought, let alone understand abstract concepts like friendship. "You really do need the adrenalin", Ronan sighed, then set his eyes onto the reed over there and skimmed the water to find a way out of this - a way to be somewhat sneaky, but sadly, there was nothing like that close to him. "Alright. One." What were the even trying to do? Fool one another? "Two." Actually, he'd lose anyway, so why even try? "Three." Oh, no - he wasn't going to go down without a fight, even if it was a senseless one at that - he'd lose, but at least he could swim as fast and as far as he could while he was at it.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "I can't do anything but wait patiently anyway.", Caelan grinned, after all he couldn't force Ronan to do anything and he didn't want to either. Aside from that he was probably right, that this wasn't the right place, at the very least Ronan would get cold and both of them somehow dirty lying in the ground and because of... well the reward with only lake water to clean up, which wasn't ideal, worst case was someone did see them, even if it was highly unlikely. The following words caused Caelan to be at a loss for words for a few moments, his eyes focusing on Ronan, then looking away for a second, before looking at him again as if he was caught. Caelan wasn't sure if he was never spoiled, but his father certainly didn't try to be nice to him, gifting him something, but Caelan didn't had to ask for many things he wanted or needed either. In the context of being loved however... well Caelans mother had no reason to hate him, but she was generally on Allards side, in the end... Ronan was probably right and he was the only one truly wanting to make Caelan happy. "I uh... thanks.", was all he could say, scratching the back of his head.

"See? Cute again!", Caelan hummed with a smile on his face. "You know... you don't have to be strong around me all the time, I know you're not weak, but everyone needs a break sometimes and everyone feels embarrassed occasionally. Also... I'm pretty much trying to get your cheeks red, because I just think it suits you!", he grinned, admitted that teasing Ronan was his goal often enough. That Ronan was neither sickly nor weak was no question for Caelan but his words alone didn't seem to convince Ronan. "I just like the exercise and it'll do you good!", Caelan grinned and aside from that did it keep Caelan occupied with something else but his thoughts of touching Ronan. The dark-haired noble counted downwards and Caelan got ready. He started swimming and Ronan wasn't slow at all. Caelan had laughed when he hadn't needed to keep swimming to keep up with Ronan. He was pretty confident though, but also, he wanted to have a little bit of fun. He let himself fall back just a little bit, so he could launch forward and grab Ronans feet for a second to tickle him, before he had to let it go again. "I'm coming for you!", he laughed and again he pinched Ronans legs.
    • "Sadly you're at my mercy, boohoo Caelan, whatever shall you do?", he wasn't out to mock Caelan, but the tone of his voice was oddly high and the words itself felt like they'd been spoken with a pinch of salt, if anything. The truth was, as much as Caelan enjoyed annoying and embarrassing him, Ronan liked to make a fool out of the blonde, simply for entertainment purposes for himself - and who could blame him? This was nothing more than a puppy that needed a leash, a push in the right direction and now he was the unfortunate kitten that had ended up with said leash, so he'd make do, whether one of them wanted to or not. "Did I say something wrong?", he asked upon seeing his lovers reaction, uncertain what had just happened - was this truly what he should have done, or did he take it a step too far? Ronan was, as he'd been so many times in his life, not sure. Not that this would cause Caelan to hate him, let alone bring the blonde to cut ties with him, but maybe, just maybe, he should ... "If so, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." Better he apologized now than later and then he never managed to, no? Though, something told him that wasn't it at all - this was something else and he should have shut up.

"Stop it or I'll bite you!", he wasn't lashing out, but being called cute was foreign, was something so alien that he didn't know if he could take it, if he could get his flared up cheeks to calm down and let the rosy color disappear from his face. Ronan of Alster was nothing more than an example of someone who'd utterly fail the role he had given himself and just because he had to have a stupid crush on this man, of all people. "You like teasing me! I got that! And no!", he puffed his cheeks - first his lover was annoying him, now he was teasing him and his best course of action was ... reacting like a little kid most likely would. Not that he cared all that much, but maybe - just maybe - Caelan had forgotten what he had told him earlier, that he wasn't used to all of this ... should he tell him? No, no - not now. "Do me good? Then I've eaten for nothing!", he laughed. Compared to Caelan, he could stand to eat and exercise just a bit more - he wasn't paperthin and he could hold a sword, he could fight and he could walk wherever he wanted - his body was just on the slimmer side as well as his appetite, whereas his love for books was outweighing the desire for adrenaline. Caelan trying to sabotage him was both unexpected and unwelcome - though, no reason to get mad. "Oh don't you dare!", he yelled, splashing a bit of water into the blondes direction. A lake really wasn't the right place to tickle him, unless Caelan wanted him to drown.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "I am able to avenge myself, you know?", Caelan retaliated and he would, he was pretty keen on doing that actually, but only because Ronan was mocking him like that. He wanted a fight? Caelan never said no to something like that, even if it was just fun anyway. However, his confused look and the sudden break in his thick skin was apparently very visible and he shook his head smiling. "No... no it's alright, you were just... well right. Very right and I just noticed that and got a little bit... confused as to how you figured that out you know? And I kinda realized that... well... you are here and able to spoil me and I'm very glad about that." He probably talked too much but this always had been Caelans problem. On the other hand, if he had said that right away there wouldn't have been a misunderstanding to begin with.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!", Caelan laughed and looked into Ronans face getting all mad about the teasing. "You are the opposite of cute! Right! Whatever that is!", he said like that would calm Ronan down and with an obviously acted seriousness in his voice. Ronan puffing his cheeks like that did not help his case at all however. He just was cute, but Caelan kept this thought to himself right now. After all he had to win a race and annoy Ronan along the way, getting a full splash of water in his face - deserved at that. Ronan was trying his best to keep swimming ahead, while Caelan was distracted for a moment, only to try to keep up again and finally right in front of the finish line he lashed forward, grabbed Ronan by his waist and swirled him around, holding him tight with one hand supporting his back and the other under his knees and smiled at him. He didn't care if anyone saw them right now, so he gave Ronan a kiss, while moving him just a little bit so he touched the reed with his skin. "You win...", he smiled, he couldn't keep his hands off of him in the end, even going so far as to wonder if they could get past of some of the reed to a place secluded enough, but that probably would only be a pain.
    • "You can't even avenge yourself when I haven't even done anything to you!", the young noble blurted out, already trying to come up with a multitude of things that he'd actually be able to do to the blonde - but nothing of that was appropriate or possible out here, at least not to the degree that Ronan wanted it to happen. Whatever would they do back at the hutch? Enough to satisfy their needs, to have some fun and then, eventually, their ways would have to part again - they had responsibilities to take care of and they, very much, couldn't stay together forever, no matter how much they wanted to. This here didn't need to be a rare event, but they'd probably be few and far between - and Ronan wouldn't be able to stand it, not a single second long. "Ah, I didn't mean to hit a weak spot but ... I'm glad you want to rely on me for that, you can have everything you want, I'll spoil you." Admittedly, Ronan wasn't aware what Caelan liked yet, but he'd figure that out sooner or later and when he did, he'd make sure to spoil his fellow noble like there was no tomorrow. For now, however, it sufficed to be here with him and get his hopes up, no?

"You're insufferable sometimes", Ronan sighed upon Caelans effortless attempt to quell his anger - it worked, somehow, but only because it was ridiculous and he himself knew that once someone had formed an opinion of him, it usually stayed like that. Caelans opinion seemed to be that he was a cute little kitten that didn't know how to help himself, so he'd need a push in the right direction - and yet, he was racing Caelan as best as he could by swimming through a damn lake and trying to reach for some reed. He didn't even think he'd win, he didn't even care if he won and yet his heart was racing, but before he got close enough, Caelan took over and was - in the end - the first one to tou- "Hey!" Again, he got hoisted up like he was nothing more than air, carried like a young noblewoman and Caelan even made a show of it so he could touch the reed first. His pride felt insulted, to say the least. "No, you do - I thought this was supposed to be fair and not you cheating twice", he grumbled, kissing the blonde back shortly thereafter. "I really need to tie you to your chair in the cabin, don't I?" Ronan sighed, but let himself be held like this, but he puffed his cheeks and crossed his arms - well, he was a spoiled brat and he wanted to lose or win the fair way, not like this.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • The race, the tickling and pinching and the picking up somehow was his revenge he was talking about earlier. "Revenge for you having me wait for my reward.", he explained and the more they walked about a possible reward the more Caelan wanted to be at this hut already, lying in bed with Ronan or do whatever they planned on doing. "Will we make it to Alster by tomorrow evening? Probably not...", he asked almost whimpering, like the little puppy he apparently was. He wanted to have Ronan for himself, in a safe place, a place with a bed and walls and curtains and a warm fire t keep that cold body of Ronan warm enough to look at him naked, without worrying he'd catch a cold. "It's alright Ronan, I'm not trying to hide from you, it hit something, but it's fine if it's you seeing it.", Caelan smiled, his voice softer than before. Ronan knew so much about Caelan already, thing he never told anyone before and Caelan didn't want to hide anything from him, even if it was something he hid from himself and wasn't even aware of.

Ronan was mad but upon further thinking Caelan was pretty sure, that this had been the outcome either way. "If I had just swam ahead and won by a good amount of distance, wouldn't that have made you mad as well?", he asked with a small chuckle, the cheating was really only limiting Caelan and Ronan had an advantage from it. Ronan crossed his arms and looked like a child again with puffed cheeks and still admitting to be held like that. "I'm sorry... I'll make it up to you...", Caelan promised and leaned forward a bit to give Ronan a kiss on his neck, then another one and another one. He kept holding him partly because he already felt cold and partly because he wanted to be close to him and feel his skin on his own. Caelan briefly looked around, then he looked at Ronan again. "I wish I could kidnap you somewhere that's.. not in the open like this..."
    • "I said I was sorry I took so long! And I know! But I warned you beforehand that it will take a while until we're in Alster, well, not in Alster but at the hut!", he sighed. If they just went back to the manor, they wouldn't have a problem - they'd be there by tomorrow no problem, but the hut was in the opposite direction, on a slope, somewhere in the woods and the only good thing was that he always had the key with him. "To Alster? Yes. To the hutch? No", he answered truthfully. Once, when he had went to Olette with Darragh, he had the same idea and took off - it had taken him for what felt like forever to get there and their only luck was that they already had gotten pretty far. Another night, out here, exposed to nothing but moon and stars wasn't so bad, but if they camped outside in Alster, the temperatures were probably pretty horrible, at least for Ronan, who already had an issue with the mild temperatures out here. The thought alone sent a shiver down his spine - not a good one. "I ... alright. I'll take your word for it", he mused, content with what he'd heard just now - he wouldn't press Caelan on the matter for sure.

"No. I didn't even think I'd compare against you in any way. If you'd been fair, I wouldn't be mad at you", Ronan grumbled and kept averting his gaze for now. Caelan hadn't committed a grave mistake and he'd not be killed by his fellow noble, but he actually was mad - he hadn't won and this felt somewhat frustrating, especially being in Caelans arms, somehow. Maybe Darragh had been right, he was a disgrace to his name and he most certainly was nothing more than some skin and bones, barely being held together by his drive for justice - all of this gave him a headache. "You ... really don't need to", but his lover wouldn't listen anyway, would he? The truth was, they both had no idea of anything and the reality was that the blonde would just do whatever he wanted, wherver he wanted. Kisses all over and they didn't feel so bad, yet Ronan didn't want to give in to them. "And yet we just got into the water. Are you really scared that somebody will see us here?" Finally taking matters into his own hands, he unfolded his arms and bit his lovers collarbone. "Stop being such a worryward, I sucked you off when the doors were unlocked."
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "Maybe we skip the next night then... ride through... our horses will be able to and we would be there faster...", Caelan said, he sounded pretty desperate, didn't he? What he said was only half a joke, another night out in the woods, would they want that? Well... Alster was still pretty cold compared, so maybe they actually didn't, if Ronan was already freezing out here. "Do you want to rest at an inn?", he asked, that would mean two rooms of course, they couldn't just share one... actually Caelan wasn't sure if anyone should see them together, so this probably was a bad idea. Well... Ronan could rest at the inn and Caelan camped at least Ronan wouldn't freeze to death then. On the other hand he ought to get used to it, after all caelan wanted to show Ronan Fhaergus mountains.

"I'm sorry...", Caelan said again, giving Ronan another kiss on his neck. "What can I do to make it up to you?", he purred, content to do anything Ronan wanted him to do. Even if it just was letting go of him, but Caelan just liked the feeling on his skin when Ronan was that close. In the water Ronan could also hold Caelan though... that probably would feel weird and that wasn't the point. Still... Caelan had the feeling Ronan didn't like their difference in height and muscles and Caelan couldn't really do anything about that. Were they already getting problems with each other? "What do you want to do in the water then?", Caelan asked, did Ronan have a better idea than holding each other? Now Caelan was being bitten and he smiled, Ronan couldn't be that mad, could he? He let go off him either way, but not without brushing over that sweet butt of his, making it seem like it was an accident. "At least we had a door... and walls...", Caelan giggled, letting Ronan decide what to do next.
    • "That's one option I wouldn't be opposed to." He never stayed up the entire night - or at least most of it. Shouldn't they be well rested when they got to the hutch? Ronan had some cleaning to do for sure, but Caelan sounded like he couldn't endure it any longer that he was out here, somewhere in Lavern still and that Alster was still so far away from him. They both were desperate for some genuine privacy and Ronan knew that, in the end, they'd be there at some point - even if that took two whole days or more. Now, the blonde probably wouldn't be satisfied with an answer like that and truly, who could blame him? "And let everyone find out that their future duke likes to spend the night at some inn, together with another noble? Don't be silly, I don't want to kill my fathers business relationships immediately, that comes later", he summarized, but in truth, he'd have no problem staying in a warm bed in an inn - but he wasn't one to make decisions in that regard. One wrong person had to see them together and they'd run their mouth until some grotesque rumor would spread like wildfire - and then Darragh couldn't just execute each and every single one of them because they had ran their mouths.

"Nothing, and stop being sorry! Just play fair the next time, puppy." Caelan really was a puppy - he was easily excitable, never seemed to listen to commands all that much and overall pretty adorable - maybe he'd need his cheeks pinched for once? Not that it would help, but Ronan thought it'd look cute, yet refrained from even trying to do it. Instead, he enjoyed the warmth that Caelans body was emitting and didn't even realize that he'd be shacking ever so slightly up until now - his body really was a failure, wasn't it? No kiss would be able to take that away, let alone some nice words; he had insecurities of his own and that was alright, but some of them were just too much to handle sometimes. "Me? Look at you and ... uhm ... you were the one wanting to go for a swim!", he retaliated and couldn't believe himself that he just had said the first thing out loud - how stupid was he even!? And there he want, came crashing down because Caelan had let go of him and he was left in the water. "You know, if you wanna touch my ass, just do it", the noble remarked as he stood back up on his own and then, instead of hiding his body once more, just decided to stand there and look at Caelan like he'd said he wanted to. The pale moonlight wasn't something that suited him, but nontheless, it was something that made his wet skin glisten, that caused shadows to fall differently than usual and yet, this was still Caelan. "And a bed, and a fireplace and it wasn't cold - I get you. So we'll just ride through the night tomorrow if we can get some good sleep tonight. Alster is probably cold enough for you to not feel gross, so you should be fine - and if we don't take our time tomorrow, we should arrive sometime in the middle of the night. Then you'll get your reward."
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • Caelan didn't know this oasis of Ronans so he couldn't really know if they were able to just crawl into bed as soon as they arrived, or if there was something to do beforehand. Though after sleeping outside, the bed couldn't be in such a bad shape, that they couldn't just sleep in it right there and then. Caelan was also pretty sure, that he was able to push through a little longer and get some wood, make a fire... what ever needed to be done. They were both young and the middle of the night was still a time where one could be up and about, they had done it before. "Yeah right, I know. Dumb idea, you are to have smart ones, not me though.", Caelan sighed and he didn't even care if they camped outside, he was just worried about Ronan and wanted to make it comfortable for him.

"Naw... but maybe I want to make it up to you!", he smiled, having a few ideas but after all this could wake, they just needed to get to Alster first and for managing that, maybe they should just go to sleep already. Caelan planned on waking up early, draggin Ronan onto one of the horses if he needed to and get going as fast as possible for as long as possible. He wanted to be out of Lavern already at least. I asked you if you wanted to swim and you said yes. Or was this just an excuse to get me naked?", Caelan laughed, acting like he had Ronan all figured out. Caelan didn't let the invitation he got go to waste and just grabbed Ronans butt for a second, before he already swam away, in the direction of their little camp. "my reward? A good nights sleep?", he asked laughing, turning around and swimming backwards so he was able to look at Ronan. "If that's our plan, we should get to bed I guess."
    • It probably was dusty as all hell and knowing the shape the hutch usually was in, he'd might have to fix something sooner or later - and if it was another hole in one of the walls, then that was nothing new. These things tended to happen sometimes, just like the blood he spilled on the bedsheets and then didn't bother removing because they were still wet and he didn't want to raise suspicion. Whether or not it was a wise decision to ride through the entire night was something he'd see for himself, it couldn't be much worse than expected, though. "I didn't mean to insult you. What I'm saying is that it's too risky, but ... if we really want to take our sweet time, we could sleep at the manor for one day, though, then I'd have to introduce you to my father and he already loathes Allard, so I'd rather not tell him I'm going to the hutch with you of all people", Ronan himself sighed now, knowing fully well that if he actually stopped at home and Darragh caught wind, he'd make sure that Ronan was going nowhere, especially not with Caelan in tow, and definitely not to the cabin in the woods that he spend so much time in.

"Do you now? Save that for the hut, alright?" They both would feel better when they could hide away from the public eye, when the only had the fire of the fireplace illuminating their bodies when the curtains in the hutch even managed to block out the peskiest moonlight. Ronan liked to lay there, in the dark, enjoying the warmth that slowly crept toward the bed whenever the fireplace was alight and just enjoyed the silence he usually wouldn't have, simply because his parents were busy people and he should at least seem like he was busy, too. "Both, but hey, you get to see me naked too - we're even", he mumbled and showed the blonde his tongue just for a second - but before he could get close, the blonde already made his way back to the other side of the shore, pressumably to get out, dry off and then go to bed. "Your reward. In two days. But you need to sleep for that", Ronan laughed, swimming after the blonde. Never did he have so much fun just thinking about spending time with someone and somehow, he thought he understood Caelans frustration - if he could, he wanted to be at this damned hutch right now and not in two days. "Precisely. Then we're well rested tomorrow ... and you can have me sit on your horse and cuddle me all day long", Ronan smiled at Caelan and even if he hadn't agreed to that, he didn't even care.
Looking back, it maybe is like the toy carts you rode when you were a kid. But those toy carts could never go beyond the walls of the lawn. We want to follow the rugged concrete road beyond the wall. As we've grown, we've decided to leave behind the toy cart.
    • "No, no no, that sounds like a bad idea. I mean he couldn't possibly turn me down... I guess, but maybe we wouldn't be able to be alone after all and I'm not willing to take that risk. I'll visit you some other time... or if we'll meet at a manor, it's mine. My father won't turn you down and he wouldn't hold us captive in the mansion either.", Caelan said, he actually had heard enough of Darragh of Alster, that he didn't want to meet him anyway and he was pretty sure, both of them would never get friendly with each other. "Though... why does your father hate mine?", he asked curious. He didn't like his own father, but in the end he was friendly to everyone but Caelan, he also was logical, making deals based on that and not on personal feelings, he was a good duke as well, he just wasn't able to deal with his only son. Maybe it was the fake smile driving away people who were able to look trough it.

"Yeah yeah, everything has to wait until we're there...", Caelan sighed, but he understood and it would be for the better, so he decided to stop complaining and he also decided to stop trying to touch Ronan on compromising places for now. They both got naked tonight but that would be about it, the sooner they went to sleep the sooner they were able to wake up and go on their journey. "Yeah yeah, I'm actually going to sleep already!", Caelan laughed and as he reached the shore, he went out, shook the water off his body and hair and got a spare blanket for Ronan to dry in. He wrapped a towel around his own waist, before getting back to the shore and unfolding the blanket so he could wrap Ronan in it as soon as he came out of the water. "That's a deal then!"
    • "I wouldn't force you into anything, so don't worry. I'm not that keen on going home either, so it's just the two of us and your little, romantic makeshift bed out here and tomorrow it's going to be nothing. I hope we can just throw ourselves in the bed when we arrive at the cabin, but knowing this thing, I'll probably have to clean up first", he almost whiend, as if he hadn't been aware of some of the problems beforehand. Most of them were easy to ignore, especially those that didn't need immediate attention and Ronan, for once, was happy that he got to leave in a big mansion that had so many other people take care of it. The hut, however, barely belonged to anyone but him - yes, his actual father would drop by every once in a while, but when he did, he only stayed for a night at a time and then moved on, wandered the area and did what he could do best - be a handful. "Why? My father hasn't ever told me about it, but he was very adamant about me not befriending you or certain other nobles. I think he's just afraid that I'll rebel against him even more, or that you might be a bad influence, but that's some shit reasoning right there. Maybe my mother knows? I could ask."

What Darragh didn't know, Saoirse probably did - sometimes, people actually wanted to speak to the actual heir of the Alster bloodline and not to some earl that had recently taken up the mantle of duke because he got lucky and got to marry an esteemed duchess. Ronan himself knew that he disliked Darragh, maybe for all the wrong reasons, but who cared? "Quit whining or I'll make you." Trying to shush Caelan would probably be fruitless effort, but as long as he hadn't tried hard enough, he wouldn't know, now would he? Well, getting out of here and getting dried off, somewhat dressed and then cuddling with Caelan sounded too good to be true. "Then hurry up and dream something nice, too!" Finally, the water relinquished him sometime after Caelan who, try as one might, was now spoiling him, offering him a blanket and even wrapping him into it - Ronan was soaked and his body was shivering as he clutched the blanket a bit too tight around his own body before he began drying himself off. "Y-Yes", he mumbled - since when was it this cold in Lavern? "I wanna get dressed", he mumbled, stumbling past Caelan back to his clothes. At least some underwear would be fine, right?

    • "I'll help you clean, don't worry.", Caelan said, though he did complain before. If it was needed so they could sleep of course he would help, what else would he do, sit somewhere and watch Ronan do all the work? No, he didn't even think about it. He hated cleaning, but if it needed to be done, he was able to help. They would probably both be glad to be able to fall into bed rather sooner than later that night. "Certain other nobles? Who else is in my category of bad friends?", Caelan asked laughing. He wouldn't say he was the best influence, but he also wasn't a bad one. He was pretty good at pissing off his own father, which came naturally anyways and he was also good at not listening to him, but that shouldn't be known by Darragh of Alster. After all they did play the perfect family since Caelan was able to remember.

"As if you're not eagerly awaiting the day of arrival!", Caelan retaliated but he would quit now, they'd soon be on their journey anyway and once they sat on their horses he felt better anyway. He was able to see the landscape rushing by, occupying him until the green grass made way for Alsters snowy woods. As long as Ronan was able to find the way at night, they would be fine either way and soon he'd have Ronan all to himself. Caelan looked at Ronan after wrapping him in the blanket, he was shivering, after all the night was still cool, but he probably was able to take care of himself for now. "Sure.", Caelan smiled, searching for his own underwear and slipping into it after drying his skin. He also slipped into his pants, after all the were out in nature under a tree, he didn't want to have bugbites everywhere. He left his shirt off however, to be able to give Ronan as much of his warmth as possible. As soon as he was ready, he lay down on the makeshift bed, preparing all the blankets he could find for Ronan to cuddle into... he also had his coat ready in case Ronan wanted that again. The candles were fine, he burried them deep enough and at some point they would just go out on their own.
    • „You? Help me clean? Weren‘t you pretty adamant about not doing that?“, Ronan couldn‘t contain a smile - it would be faster and easier that way, but Caelan would see something that his fellow noble wasn‘t exactly keen on showing him, let alone on explaining to him. He probably had a spare sheet or two lying around in the cabin‘s closet anyway, so there was no need to fret over it all that much - he‘d change it and while he did, he‘d open the window so that some of the dust could get out. „Pretty much everyone that‘s an earl or something else. My father does a pretty decent job at getting alone with the other dukes, except for your father. Come to think of it, I think my mother gets along with him? And I think that‘s what pisses my father off.“ Whenever those two seemed to meet at an event, they only ever talked to one another for quite some time and laughed about so many things, Ronan often felt lost as to where to butt in an just announce that he was leaving. Was Darragh jealous that his mother seemingly showed more interest in Allard than him? It seemed just like that.

„I do, but do you see me whining about it? No. Shush, Caelan“, he chastised his lover and started rummaging for the pieces of clothing he‘d put back on. Actually, it would be more comfortable to ride through the night anyway - he was already cold in Lavern, which, compared to Alster was pretty warm and it wasn‘t to get any warmer than this back home. So stopping in his tracks would only serve to make him freeze easier, knowing fully well that he‘d be somewhat cold regardless of where he went. After he‘d put on his underwear and his pants and decided against a shirt, he threw the blanket they‘d abused as a towel over one of the tree branches so that‘d be at least somewhat dry by tomorrow morning. After making sure everything was right, he slipped into Caelans little makeshift bed with him, buried under god knew how many blankets and cuddling up close to the blonde so that he could bury his face in his chest. „Good night, Caelan“, he murmured and was pretty sure that, while he was freezing now, all the spots on his body that touched those of his lover, were already heating up and stealing away his warmth, so there was no need to actually wait - of course, he still shivered a bit right now, but that would go away sooner than later.

    • "If it needs to be done, of course I'll help.", he smiled at Ronan. "But I'll probably start with asking you were I get wood from and starting a fire, so the room is able to warm up right away." And when they'd finally lie down it would be warm and cozy and they were able to sleep as long as they wanted, though Caelan wouldn't want to sleep a whole day again, he rather used the limited time they got together and there were other things they would need to care about anyway, like getting something to eat and cook, also Ronan wanted Caelan to read some books as well. "Your mother and my father? Hmmm... I never paid attention to that but might be. Though my father comes along with almost everyone, he always seems to know what to say.", Caelan said and he wasn't even sure he knew how Ronans mother even looked like.

Caelan didn't say anything anymore, instead he just wrapped his arm around Ronan as soon as he lay down and warmed him up as good as he could. He loved holding him like that, he loved being useful to him and warming him up. Caelan slowly moved his hands over Ronans back to keep all of his skin warm and to stop him from shivering, he even came a little closer and tried to warm up Ronans feet as well. "Good night...", he returned softly, pressing a kiss on the top of Ronans head and closed his eyes right after. He continued caressing Ronan a little while longer, until he fell asleep. On the next day he was awake just as the sun started shimmering trough the trees leaves. Ronan was still asleep as it seemed and Caelan slowly pulled his arm out from under him, trying not to wake him. He planned on getting the horses ready and fix up the camp without waking Ronan right away.
    • Caelan kept talking, nothing that disturbed Ronan all that much - it was nice listening to him talk, not understanding a single thing of what was said - and that was, for the most part at least, fine. He was tired, just from talking and getting here, from taking a quick dive into the lake and now he wanted nothing more than to sleep and wake up tomorrow, sometime early. In reality, he had to face his dreams first, the fleeting but vivid feeling of being asleep and yet he barely noticed anything of it, barely dreamt about anything - but he didn't mind, not even when the darkness enveloped him and wasn't keen on letting him go anytime soon, that was for sure. Reality was, that he - of all people - was the one that got to lay in Caelans arms and he'd cherish it forevermore, as long as he could, forever if he was allowed to. All good things ended at some point, though, and that was something he was almost painfully aware of, even in his very dreams that only seemed to be a thin veil draped across his weary eyes, barely managing to hide anything away.

Once the warmth to his side shifted, Ronan started cuddling with the blanket to fill the hole that had been left behind - he wasn't awake, not yet, his body was just reacting on its own to keep itself warm and as much as he wanted it to, not everything sufficed. Truth be told, he wasn't even sure if there was a possibility for him to get his mind out of the gutter and let him do as he wanted to, there barely was anything that he could do - his body wasn't usually his to control, but right now, the faint rays of sunlight that already made their way through the trees woke him up, as well as the missing warmth. Even if it hadn't been Caelans intention, Ronan mumbled something and against better judgement tried to see if his body was willing to give it a go, stretched himself and tried to regain some feeling in those fingers of his, which - to his surprise - weren't all that far gone. Almost immediately after realizing that, he sat up and - as per usual - was rewarded with dizziness and his hair, stinking of lake water, being only half dry and hanging into his face. Once he had managed to get over the usual dizziness, his eyes searched for Caelan who was - ever so quietly - packing up. Against better judgement, Ronan helped himself on his legs, ever so carefully, and walked over to Caelan, hugged him from behind. "Good morning", he mumbled.
