“I can’t blame you. I could bring you some books from the library, or show you how to sew?”, he suggested with a sheepish smile, not to get Richard off his back but to help him be useful out here, even when he was bedbound for the time being. Yujin was glad it wasn’t him who was the one stuck in bed instead, yet, if this were the old Richard - whom he didn’t miss terribly, yet longed for every once in a while - he’d likely not have minded being the one in bed at all. Would he still have acted li…

There were books he brought, mostly for himself, but he could share the ones he didn't need for himself with Richard - there was food to be made, corners to be dusted, snow to be cleared at least in front of their entryway and there still was some sort of epiphany stuck in his head: Where on earth would he put his stuff? There was nowhere for him to go, there was an unused room that he didn't want to claim, out of both respect and other reasons, but that only left Richards room, which once more …

"If you need anything, and I mean anything at all, just call for me, okay? I'll check in on you, but I don't want to invade your personal space." The hut wasn't that large and if Yujin honored all that had transpired here before, it was clear it held little space for him if he didn't spend time by Richards side - he didn't want to jeopardize his fathers room with his own ideas, something he noticed only when sticking his head in through the door that this room wasn't anywhere he wanted to be, ei…

Was this a mistake? It didn't seem like it could be - there was nothing he could do, not for either of them, outside of moving them from one place to the next. There was nothing to be gained from worrying about the obvious, much less was there anything to be gained from staying where they simply wouldn't be welcome. Yujin hadn't stopped to ask anyone for permission, he had just went and if somebody had anything against that, they could as well bring it up to that face of his that bore a souring …

Yujin sighed at the display before him, knowing he had little choice. Nothing he was doing would be working out, nothing he needed to be doing right now anyhow. Comforting Richard and keeping him save was one of his tasks, yes, but it wasn't like that was so very impossible to do. "That's why I asked.", he told Richard, letting his shoulders slump a little bit. Today wasn't for him, it seemed like it had been for just about everyone else and nothing mattered beyond that Richard was feeling like …

While moving everything someplace else was easy, the last bit of baggage - Richard himself - seemed to be the most daunting task. With him being unable to both move anywhere and get around on his own, it was like lugging around a block of iron, more than a single sack of rice and getting him to the sled wasn't easy either. Yujin found that lifting Richard was easy, moving just likely hurt him, which wasn't optimal. In the end, though, they had settled for the hut and there was nothing they could…

"Which isn't a bad thing, no?", he asked Richard with utmost sincerity. Yujin knew that no matter what, Richard seemed to at least want to try and talk to his brother one more time, no matter the cost. Making that happen already sounded insane enough but worse, it was even odder that he couldn't pull any strings to make it happen. Was there really a need for Dayan's intervention? As much as Yujin wanted to leave, he wasn't sure he could trust a stranger that, by all accounts, was hardly much bet…

“If you want to see him nothing speaks against that. We can just invite him, how about it?” Richards brother was most definitely a busy man and likely not in the mood for something like this, Yujin was aware of most kings no nonsense attitude, but for his injured baby brother? Surely the mighty, benevolent King Dayan of Adrestia, or whatever that mans name and title was, found it within his grand heart to visit his baby brother. “You’re feeling bad for him?”, Yujin questioned, sounding astounded…

"That does sound weird, but I'm glad you are at the same time.", he confessed, having expected the worst. Richard wasn't someone that gave up easily and yet it seemed almost as if Xu would have been someone that could make him, that would push him far enough to actually try and give up again, lose the spark he had clung to the past few weeks. Yujin was glad it wasn't the case. "That is good." A nod followed, confirming the odd suspicion. Often times he couldn't read his father and this time it w…

"My dad always said I can't be doing that bad if I can still joke around.", he teased in return, knowing that they both had much more than they bargained for on their little plates. To put any blame on Richard would feel wrong, much like his father would argue that no matter what, if he stayed with this man he would incite something in this world that he didn't want. Yujin didn't care. "I'll come to bed in a bit, then." Nobody wanted Richard to freeze, even if Yujin was going to be a liability t…

A joke? Now? In this condition? His dad always said if he could make a joke or two, he couldn’t be feeling that bad but Yujin was quite aware Richard probably looked worse than he actually was off. “I had to hassle the servants, someone has to keep you warm with no fireplace or hearth in sight and I didn’t want to leave you out of sight. Besides, the kittens were a bit fussy about being here, too. Are you cold?”, he demanded to know right out of the gate - Yujin wanted to make sure his fiancé wa…

Taking care of Richard was easier said than done, especially when he slipped into a state of unconsciousness - Yujin almost panicked, before calming himself down and then bolting, not anywhere but right to where Shuren was, who looked at him with about as much contempt as one person could have for another. The fact he agreed to help Richard and didn't ask questions, not when he saw guards carrying in Xu, was proof enough that something was going on or, worse, his father was just good at hiding h…

Xu toppled over like the last vestige of life had left him but it was apparent that this was neither over nor done with. No. He'd likely only make up some weird story about how it all was Richards fault and the man that grabbed the wooden board behind him came just a second too late, now that Richard had defended himself. Yujin sighed, the tension leaving his body as he gave his brother a good kick, making sure he was entirely off of his lover first. However would he carry him back without makin…

Xu had thought this, too, would be nothing but an easy way to get over everyhting in a swift motion - he'd rid himself of Richard, claimed the roach had simply taken his own life which was hardly something anyone would have a hard time believing and would go on with his own day. Yujin would get over it and if not, he'd join him not much later and the two of them could be reunited in death, where they could do whatever it was that they wanted. Fate, however, or the gods that cursed him for his in…

Something had been fishy for too long, which was to say that the cadaver had been out of the water for what seemed to be a while when it started stinking up the place after all. He didn't like it when his father dragged about rats for experiments and he hated it even more when his brother acted like the whole world would start loving him, now that not a single vile thought persisted in that painfully empty brain of his. Xu hated it, much more than he hated anyone else for their wrongdoings or ex…

"And I know you want me to stay.", he lauded, aware they both hated to part ways. Yujin felt stiffer than usual, like the second wind in the sails of his ship had been knocked out of them once more and he had to face the sobering truth against the harsh winds of an unbraved sea once more. There was no learning from mistakes he had made in the past if he didn't remember them, but this time there was at the very least an understanding to some degree, one which he could use to his own advantage. "I…

"I know.", Yujin responded. He knew well enough and it was sobbering to know that he didn't have strong enough of a pull on this man to make him stay, yet it was only obvious that something of the sort would take precedent in anyones mind over new relationships one had not yet fostered properly. There was no one to blame, even now that he was thinking about it, Richard was still someone Yujin respected and loved at the same time, thus making his opinions something valued to him. Who else could c…

“I could’ve if I went with you.”, Yujin reminded him. Wasn’t it true? He would have held Richard and his father up, maybe even would have gotten either of them killed with his stupid antics, he didn’t know. All that was obvious to him was one thing - he would’ve been more of a burden to them than Richard ever could be to him. He loved him, with all his heart, unabashed and tender, knowing he had nothing to lose, if anything at all. “Lying? I never do, not on purpose, not to you. To me, you’re be…

“That’s what you think. I don’t care. When haven’t I held you up?”, he laughed, amused by the dove that had found its way into his grasp and was now paying dearly for it. Magpie seemed to nice, maybe Yujin was a raven instead, standing in direct contrast to something like Richard and plucking every feather from his back out of desperation, hungry and helpless. In another life maybe, in this one he’d much rather be the magpie that stole food for them both while sharing a nest with his dove, just …

"And I didn't want to. I remember you saying you don't mind, but it would be unfair." If Richard couldn't, then Yujin shouldn't - that had been his reasoning so far, nevermind that he probably was off the mark with it. Did he care now? Yujin couldn't even be sure, hell, he couldn't even really check in with him for it. "Is it that obvious?", he asked with a chuckle, knowing it had to be. Nothing else would have met Richard point it out like that, but it was fine. There was nothing to be gained f…
