It was better Ignatius didn't give up right now, whether Azrael believed in his cause or not. Leaving him out here to die wasn't something he'd do and thus it was only helpful to stop him beating himself up over what happened. Azrael also might have made the wrong calls, like camping in the woods or searching for shelter in the cathedral, but they also might be dead by now if he did anything differently. Their situation was grim, but it wasn't yet time to give up. He said his peace and didn't ne…

It was good that Ignatius tried to learn something after all that happened, but Azrael wasn't really sure if that lesson rang true as he believed it. Maybe it was better to let him believe it was his fault, but he decided to say something anyway. "Challenging a vampire wasn't the best of ideas, but in the end I don't think it mattered much. We don't know what would have happened if we had acted differently, we were at a disadvantage either way. I..." Azrael stopped and thought about the words he…

"I'm fine without.", Azrael simply answered. Ignatius was right, he didn't want anything to do with the church. "Well that's good at least. Water is the most important after all... What about your wounds? Are you okay now? Were you able to regain some energy?" It didn't matter wholy, but it would be good to know how frequently he was able to heal himself, or Azrael if he ever needed it. Right now his energy was better spent elsewhere though. At least there weren't any demons around at the moment…

"We talked about this before... I don't have what it takes. They tested me as a child." And he didn't need it either. He didn't want to have anything to do with magic. After all, he'd probably be part of the church as well if he'd been born differently. Instead they cast him away first, despite his fathers devotion and later on denounced him as a demon because of that stupid hair of his. And then... Well, there was no point in being angry now. "No, I am just thinking ahead. After all we don't ha…

"I can't cast magic. Not like you anyhow. If we hadn't lost all our stuff, I might have had something that would have helped, but it might also have brought this place down with it. It doesn't seem very stable after all..." Given they fell two floors into this hell. No, letting that thibg explode was probably a bad idea and Azrael didn't have the means anyway. He had a few things still with him, some tinctures, mostly to apply to his weapon, or be warned of demons. "Can you conjure drinkable wat…

Only the dust, huh? Fine then, Azrael didn't need to worry in that case, but he also couldn't be sure if Ignatius would hide any more serious issues. As he arrived at the status he held down the torch, closer to the plate that was on it, so Ignatius could see and read it better, since he seemed so interested in it. At first Azrael merely thought he was trying to orient himself, but apparently this was their way out or something? "I assume just breaking it to bits is not an option.", Azrael sugge…

Ignatius was well enough and Azrael purposfully ignored all compliments and pleasentries the priest threw at him. If anything he wasn't sure if he was honest, or was just taught to talk loke this. Azrael was also not equipped to answer, he didn't know what to say and only answered to what he had something to add to. He noticed Ignatius cough, wondering a bit about it. Was it the dust, the rotten air, the broken ribs, or bruised lungs? Maybe he also caught something else, with his body being this…

Ignatius didn't look very good, but he got up on his feet at least. "Well enough to walk on your own?", he asked a follow up question while he offered to help him up. How was he feeling? "Considering rhe circumstances, good." He was bruised and hurt but he had enough energy in him to go on and even fend off some enemies as long as they weren't too big. "You didn't keep me waiting. I found the torch and a spare and looked a bit ahead. I hope the way out, but you might know the layout better than …

Ignatius kept talking while Azrael didn't really feel up to the task. Surely there was something he expected, some encouraging words or something like habd holding through this, bjt Azrael didn't know what the priest wanted. Azrael wasn't even sure if he wanted to continue this journey with the priest and all the money in the world wouldn't help if he died. An army wiped out and a monastery too in only a short amount of time. He did believe that a smaller group would yield better results by flyi…

In a way maybe Ignatius realized now that this journey wasn't a fun walk in the park and they weren't a match for any demon around, especially not tired and beat as they were now. He worried a bit that Ignatius was more hurt than he let on, maybe even broke something during the fall without noticing, but there wasn't much Azrael could do right now to help either. He wasn't a great motivational speaker that could pull Ignatius out of his own gloomy thoughts either. Their situation was grim, there…

Did Azrael want to know what caused this earthquake? No, not at all and yet he couldn't just ignore it. He wanted to know what they were up against to know what to look out for, but even he was beat after the last day and this eventful night. Ignatius' voice sounded hoarse and trembling. As Azrael suspected, he wasn't as tough as he wanted to be and not cut out for this. He wouldn't nag him about it, he was hurt and tired. "It's fine, just sit down.", Azrael told him through the darkness, hearin…

One could only guess what it meant to be taken by a vampire. She might have used them for her amusement or simply for food, either way he rather didn't find out. Ignatius was beat and tired, Azrael was too, but he was still fine. Once he ran back however, to not leave Ignatius alone when the earth was shaking the floor gave way as soon as he opened the door. Suddenly there was nothing underneath him and nothing to hold on to. The fall was short-lived however as he harshly landed on some stone. T…

There was no one left, they also didn't see many corpses on the way though, which wasn't exactly reassuring. He doubted all of them made it in here, if anyone. He wasn't sure if this place fended off anybody. Maybe a random house would have been saver, not from the vampire though. "I want to check further in, we'd be saver there from this vampire at least." But if the demons broke in and followed any survivors to the core of this place, they'd be trapped as well. Azrael shut his mouth, Ignatius …

Ignatius didn't look very good, but Azrael didn't want to move out of here anyway, not when he could help it. He wasn't sure if this little room in the back of the cathedral was enough to hold off a vampire, there was but a tiny cross in here, but for now it was enough. Once Ignatius was taken care of, he culd check more rooms, maybe they could hide further in or by the altar. At the very least this would show Ignatius that he wasn't invincible and that fighting demons was no game. It only took …

Ignatius was clearly not looking so good, he even started to sound honest when he thanked Azrael. "Not out of the woods yet..." Metaphorically that was. Azrael wasn't good at receiving thanks and now was not the time to be sentimental. Ignatius needed a break, some bandages and probably some healing. But first they made their way through the back alleys and towards the cathedral. Interestingly enough the back door was unguarded and open, so they slipped inside. Azrael was weary about this, but t…

Even in this light Azrael could see how pale Ignatius was. His hand thatgrabbed Azraels had a weak grip and was slightly shaking. Azrael was doing slightly better, he was defiently still up to run, but the priest was a bit too heavy to carry him altogether. Their horse had ran off by now, with most of their belongings, which was bad. Running from a vampire wasn't easy either and there was not telling for how long she'd be knocked to her knees. He was sure the burning village and possible monesta…

"Do you now.", she sighed. "You talk a whole lot but really don't have anything to back it up." She wasn't wrong, even though Azrael hated to agree with a vampire. Ignatius didn't seem to understand in what position he was in, as if it was enough to talk big to get rid of a vampire. "For situations like this?", she laughed then rolled with her eyes. "I am not talking to you, prince." Azrael was the one whos loyalty she tested with her question, but he knew better than to answer her. There was no…

Ignatius was an idiot and definitely didn't have the awareness of their current predicament. They didn't know how old this vampire was, but Azrael was sure that if she wanted, she could have killed them both already. Azrael blocked her attack in the very last second which was probably the only reason he was still alive, both of them actually, just because she found that funny. Fighting a vampire at night wasn't smart, but running seemed impossible too. While Ignatius was acting like a spoiled br…

Azraels body hurt, he wasn't sure what they were up against, but they certainly were no match. Ignatius landed close to him soon enough, still having a big mouth. This idiot didn't seem to understand in what shitty situation they found themselves in. Was it smart or in any way helpful to just stay put? Now not at all, so he couldn't even fault Ignatius for getting back up. Azrael grabbed his sword and did the same. "I don't like being called a demon, I wasn't born in hell you see.", the apparent…

For a while Richard just lay there, more calm with holding Yujins hand like that. He knew he was save and not alone here and yet it was so much easier when he felt someone by his side he trusted. This castle wasn't short on untrustworthy people. Shuren was nice to him now, but this man was so unpredictable and self centered, it was hard not to compare him to the likes of Aramis and his lot. There were secret kept in this place as well, about Yujin and what happened to him, all things Richard cou…
