Dane sidestepped the maw of the Dragon trying to crush him.
"Not Ro then," he said to himself.
No surprise there. Ro and the Dragon had never acted as a unit and what little information they'd gathered about this whole thing had told them something that this would happen.
The Dragon made himself small and hissed like a scared animal. Dane knew why.
"I know. This world, this reality... it's a lot at first."
The Dragon was slow. He'd seen it during the fight with Aimeric. He didn't know how to work a physical body even if it was his body. It was the first time this body existed, it was the first time he had to deal with it in a realm where physics played a part. Same went for his magic.
Dane didn't flinch when the water finally came his way. He simply blocked the strike with one of his own wings. The air hissed and crackled as the high pressured water evaporated instantly into hot mist, fogging the immediate area around Dane and the Dragon. The impact had hurt, Dane was willing to admit that much, but he hadn't moved an inch.
"You know I'm not here to hurt you," he said, his voice calm. "You know me. We have talked before. You have felt my magic before. And you know what we are."
He folded his wings behind him, made himself a bit smaller too - even though he was leagues smaller than the dragon already. The Dragon needed to calm down so that he could find his own balance. Only then could Ro try to find his own.
"Having a physical form is exhausting, isn't it? Amazing, but so tiring. So many senses, so many impressions. Try to focus. I know you can. Focus on one thing. The sound of the waves for example. Just listen."
