Genji wasn't sure if Mikuni was worried about him because he didn't want to be alone, or if Otohas feelings for him somehow spilled over. He shook his head and spread his arms a little to show the boy that there was not a single scratch on him. "I am fine and no one died.", he reported to him and took a look at his bags. "We'll have about double the time to leave this place then. They will come back, but they'll have to reach a town first and gather more men." Maybe he shouldn't send them to a quest to kill Noroichi, how many people would actually pay money if the beast got slain? It was the best way to avoid bloodshed however, at least he thought it was. "No need to rush, we have time to think about what we want to take on the journey. It's getting dark soon, we'll leave tomorrow morning. You should get some rest tonight." Dragging Mikuni through the dark was probably not a good idea. He wasn't used to traveling, much less in the dark.
He too wasn't used to a travel companion. They'd need food, maybe a tent, a sleeping bag or at least a warm blanket and pillows for Mikuni. A horse would be good, but then again, Genji didn't even know where to go. He had no goal and Mikuni didn't have one either. He also didn't believe he could live somewhere in peace, that they would always find him. Genji didn't know if that was true, but at least he should learn how to defend himself and until he didn't, Genji would keep him save. After all, he ruined his home and took everything from him, that was the least he could do. Mikuni looked devastated though. "Are you hungry? Should I get you something?" It was an attempt to cheer him up, a fruitless one probably, but Genji didn't know what else to do. He wasn't used to company, not at all and he didn't know how to help a young priest like Mikuni, who was about to loose everything he got left.
